All of us at Sparkles & Spikes Children’s Hair Salon are beyond excited to announce our reopening on June 16th and cannot wait to welcome everyone back! If your appointment was cancelled while our salon was closed or you would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at (805) 379-5379. We appreciate your patience and will get back to each and every one of you in the order we receive your calls.
To accommodate our clients and limit the number of people at our salon at any given point, we’ve made some changes to our schedule and procedures. Many changes have been made to meet the ever-changing guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control, California Department of Public Health, California Department of Industrial Relations, California Board of Barbering & Cosmetology, and the Ventura County Health Department and we would like to tell you about them.
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., by appointment only.
When you arrive for your appointment, please proceed to the new outdoor designated waiting area where you will be greeted by a Sparkles staff member, in full personal protective equipment (PPE). Our staff member will ask you a series of questions for a wellness check, take your temperature with a touch-less thermometer, provide hand sanitizer and open the door for you to proceed into the salon for your appointment. We ask that only one guardian accompany each child. It is important for everyone, including the guardians, to wear a face covering or mask upon arrival. If you forget yours at home, don’t worry – we have plenty of disposable face coverings and will provide upon request. To ensure the safety of everyone at the salon, anyone receiving salon services (regardless of age) will be required to wear a face covering during haircutting and other close contact hair services. Please note that due to these additional protocols and disinfecting features, some of our fun salon chairs may not be available.
You will also notice the increased protection measures throughout the salon. These include sneeze guards around the front desk area, HEPA air scrubbers throughout the salon, hand sanitizing stations, and PPE for our team members, including face coverings, face shields, and gloves, when appropriate.
We also ask that you please maintain physical social distancing to the maximum extent possible while you are at our salon.
While we understand that situations arise beyond your control, it is very important that everyone is on time for appointments. Due to the changes and additional protocols in place, we have allotted additional time to clean and disinfect all workstations and tools in between appointments. If you are more than five (5) minutes late you may not be able to be serviced.
Please also be aware that due to rising operational costs, there will be a slight price increase affecting some salon services starting June 16, 2020. We greatly appreciate your business and look forward to providing you with the same quality service and value you have come to expect as we transition to this new normal.
